SELECTION REQUIREMENTS AND TIPS
DIGITAL
PHOTOS WORK BEST
To ensure that your
final
work of art is the very best it can be, Astonishing Arts strongly recommends that you send us a digital photo that
has been either:
- scanned into your computer or
- taken with
a standard digital camera of your choice.
A digital photograph is highly preferred for the creation
of digital works of art. Digital photos tend
to be clearer, crisper and more vibrant. Digitally submitted
photographs
also eliminate any possibility that a cherished hardcopy
photo might be lost or damaged in the mail.
PHOTO
CHARACTERISTICS AND REQUIREMENTS
As a general rule, Astonishing Arts does not add arms, legs, feet, ears,
hair,
etc.
to
the photo(s) you submit. Consequently, you will want to be sure that your photo
submission
shows the person or pet you want painted as clearly as possible.
The subject
of your photo should
- clearly show all the appropriate facial and bodily features,
- be unobstructed by other objects or scenery and
- be properly
costumed and/or posed (if you
are choosing a fine art theme or a
Transport option.)
Avoid
photos which are blurry, poorly lit or indistinguishable
from there backgrounds.
A
HIGHER QUALITY PHOTO GIVES YOU THE BEST RESULTS! The
artistic quality of the photographic portion of
your final artwork is directly related to the initial
quality of your
photo submission. If
your original photo is of a poor quality, then it
is possible that its artistic transformation may be disappointing.
Astonishing Arts reserves the right
to
reject photos which it believes are too inferior to be
used for artwork creation. (If we reject a photo submission
due
to poor quality, we will request a better version from
the client or supply a full refund to a client if no suitable
image can
be obtained.)
RECOMMENDED
FORMATS AND RESOLUTION
Astonishing Arts accepts all Photoshop compatible digital photos
formats, including:
GIF, JPG, JPEG, TIF, EPS, IFF, PCT, PNG, PSD, PDF, BMP, TGA,
16 bit RAW and PXR.
The resolution of digital photographs you submit must be at least 200
dpi (dots
per inch) at a minimum.
RECOMMENDED
SIZES
Image dimensions that are 1,024x768 pixels are adequate
for most Astonishing Arts artwork, but, when possible, a
larger
size
of
1600x1200
pixels
or more is recommended.
Files uploaded to Astonishing Arts cannot exceed
10 Megabytes (Mb). Files exceeding this size should
be compressed (zipped) to fit at or under 10Mb.
HOW
TO SUBMIT PHOTOS

Email Upload: Uploading and auto-sending
your photo to Astonishing Arts during checkout is
far
and
away
the
most
preferred
way to submit your photos. This is done by
filling
out
and
submitting the Automated Photo Upload Form presented at checkout.

RECOMMENDED!)
Snail Mail:* Only when unavoidable,
you may use Snail Mail To Send Your Photo(s) To: Astonishing Arts, 2544 Corbyton

FL 32828. Photos will
be returned with the shipment of your final artwork. (Astonishing Arts is not responsible for photos that are lost or damaged
in the mail.)
